Open Game Day Thread: Texas Tech vs. Ole Miss
Double-T Nation: Open Game Day Thread: Texas Tech vs. Ole Miss. [via The Red Solo Cup]
This is the best summary of the game. It goes from we’ll dominate to Leach sucks. See if you can follow along…
settling into the groove now. Ole Miss is in a bit of trouble if you ask me.
That’s the name of the Tech game. When they get a little, they are unstoppable. Ole Miss is going to learn a very tough lesson today. If we can get up by 14 – game over.
disregard my dominating comments…
I’m not impressed with Ole Miss defense…Tech’s offense has just been sketchy through their own fault.
Anyone else less than impressed with the D-line of Ole Miss? Or am I being a completely blind homer….
Our defense has been a joke all season and it’s just become more apparent today when it matters.
This is pissing me off to no end…we look uninspired and over matched in every aspect so far.
Here come the SEC chants.
Well, that may be the game right there. Epic failure on a grand scale. They have 22 minutes to make up 17 points…and keep Ole Miss off the board. Not gonna happen this time, I don’t think.
They are absolutely wiping the turf with Tech. This is worse than the OU loss – these guys are not going to play for a national title.
11-2 And completely humiliated in both losses. This was a paper lion. I’m pissed at myself for being sucked into this team more than I am the performance. The performance tonight could almost be predicted, couldn’t it? I mean, highly ranked (uh-oh), highly publicized (uh-oh), coach won’t sign extension (uh-oh), Harrell and Crabtree do the awards show circuit (uh-oh)….against a well coached (uh-oh) and fired up (uh-oh) team. Disaster in waiting becomes disaster in reality. Leach, kiss my ass.
Ole Miss’ victory speaks loudly for SEC
Dallas Morning News: Ole Miss’ victory speaks loudly for SEC.
In Round 1 of the SEC vs. the Big 12, now known nationally as the Flag Football League, Texas Tech did nothing against Ole Miss to dispel the national perception that Big 12 teams couldn't stop their mail, much less an ambulatory offense.
We held up our end of the deal, of course Bama let the SEC down last night.
HOTTY TODDY !!!
ESPN: Snead, Ole Miss down Texas Tech in Cotton Bowl.
More on this tomorrow. HOTTY TODDY !!!

Playoff Fantasy Football
I’m looking to create a playoff fantasy football league. It needs to be 6-8 teams and I’d like to charge $10 each so we have something to play for. Put a little money on it and smack talk rises exponentially.
Draft will be conducted via email/phone. Each team will draft 1 Team QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 Team K, 1 Team Defense, and 1 Coach. Your roster is set after the draft and does not change. Part of the strategery is drafting from teams that you think will go further in the playoffs. Will your guys get 1 game like the Cowboys did last year or 4 games like the Giants?
Points will be awarded as follows
- 6 points for rushing/receiving touchdowns
- 4 points for passing touchdowns
- 1 point for every 4 receptions
- 1 point for every 10 yards rushing /receiving
- 1 point for every 20 yards passing
- 2 points for 2 point rushing/receiving
- 1 point for 2 point passing
- 3 points for field goals under 50
- 5 points for field goals 50 and up
- 2 points for sacks
- 2 points for interceptions
- 2 points for recovered fumbles
- 6 points for return touchdowns
- 10 points for a coaching win
I didn’t include negative points for anything, trying to keep it simple. Also, no fractional points. If I’m missing anything please post in the comments. I’ll do the scoring and post a spreadsheet weekly. First 7 people I like that want to play are in.
Prizes will be $10 for 2nd and the rest for the winner.
